The Northwest UNISON Self-Organised Groups are pleased to invite you to our upcoming regional event:
United against Discrimination Saturday 11 July 2026 2:00pm – 5:00pm Cross Street Chapel, Cross Street, Manchester, M2 1NL
This event brings together our Self-Organised Groups in a collective commitment to challenge discrimination in all its forms and strengthen solidarity across our union, workplaces and communities.
The afternoon will provide an opportunity for members to come together, learn from one another, and explore the challenges facing workers and communities today, including racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, Islamophobia and other forms of discrimination and exclusion.
The programme will include:
Workshop 1: Discrimination at Work – Know Your Rights
Workshop 2: Building Solidarity Against Hate and Division
Guest speakers and contributors
Discussion and networking opportunities
Information stalls and resources
Food and refreshments
The event is being organised jointly by the Northwest Black Members, Women’s Members, LGBT+ Members, Disabled Members and Migrant Workers Network, reflecting our shared commitment to equality, justice, and collective action.
Most importantly, this event is open to all UNISON members. Whether you are an experienced activist or attending your first union event, you will be very welcome.
