Food Bank Donation

In recent years, Unison’s charity There for You, has received an increasing number of requests from members needing emergency help to buy food. Your Unison Branch has three active Welfare Officers who have systems in place whereby they can refer members who may need help from local food banks.

One of the local food banks we regularly refer our members to is the Manchester Central Food Bank. We have recently made a donation to them as a token of appreciation for the work they do and the help they have given our members. Pictured below are two of our Welfare Officers, Peter Goodier and Val Donegan who both work at Manchester Royal Infirmary, handing over the donation cheque.

If you find yourself in financial difficulty, please get in touch with your Branch Welfare Officers via 0161 291 5212. There are many ways in which Unison can help and we offer a completely confidential service so please do not feel embarrassed about asking for help.
