What will the new NHS pay offer mean for me??

Unison members will soon be asked whether or not they agree the new NHS pay offer. Unlike previous years, this offer isn’t an automatic payment that will arrive in your pay packet. If you want this pay rise, you need to vote YES for it in UNISON’s consultation.

UNISON’s consultation will run from Tuesday 28 March to Friday 14 April. Members will be emailed a secure personal link to vote on Tuesday 28 March so please use your vote when it arrives. You are making a choice between the certainty of what is on offer here or entering another lengthy negotiation process that might deliver a lot less. Elected representatives on UNISON’s lead NHS committee have carefully reviewed the offer and their recommendation is that members vote YES to accept it.

So you know exactly what you will be voting for, Unison has produced a tool whereby you can input your current banding and the lump sum and new salary under the terms of the proposed pay offer will be calculated. Find out what the pay offer will mean for you HERE

We are under no illusions that this offer is not everything that hard-working NHS staff deserve. Negotiations were tough, and we worked hard to squeeze more money out of ministers than they initially wanted to commit. The health unions have secured billions of pounds of additional pay investment from one of the most hostile governments we have known, in very uncertain economic times – this is a victory against all the odds.

This is a conditional offer from the government. If UNISON and other union members don’t vote to accept it, the package will be off the table.
