International Women’s Day online event
Webinar: Women behind the chains
5 March 2024, 12.00pm – 1.00pm
To mark International Women’s Day, Unison’s National Women’s Committee has organised a webinar on ‘Women Behind the Chains’.
Around 200 million hidden women workers worldwide are behind the global supply chains that produce the solar energy panels, electronic devices, and rubber gloves we rely on to do our jobs. As the world face multiple crisis of worsening climate change and authoritarianism, women carry the burden of increasing inequality and the backlash against workers’ rights. You can offer them your solidarity by joining us this International Women’s Day to learn about the challenges women who make the products we rely on face, their courageous struggle, and how UNISON is working to support them and what role you can play.
Speakers
